The baby rattle pattern I used as inspiration was originally created by Claudia Stolf for Circulo Yarns. Her tiger pattern is written for 4-ply yarn with a 3mm crochet hook, but I’ve adapted all of the patterns to use DK yarn and a 4mm hook. For the other animal characters I designed, I used various reference images for inspiration.
The 5 characters include the follow:
Owl
Big round eyes with pointy ears and an orange beak is some characteristics of this owl pattern. This particular baby rattle I’ve made for a dear friend of mine’s daughter. We’ve been friends since school and it was so special that we could share our pregnancy journey’s together. Hope this inspires your to make one yourself. Get the pattern here.

Frog
Some characteristics of this pattern is the large round eyes on top of the frog’s head. From the entire series, this was my favourite rattle to make by far. I’ve made this for a particular baby boy who has two older sisters…two toy poms and I just thought this will be so cute if he can have a doggy rattle to play with. Hope this inspires your to make one yourself. Get the pattern here.

Bear
Looking at the bear rattle, it is distinguished by it’s big mouth with large round ears. It’s always nice to appreciate friendships and to express it with a personalised gift. I’ve made this baby rattle for a dear friend of mine’s son and he just adores it! Hope this inspires your to make one yourself. Get the pattern here.

Dog
When seeing the dog rattle, you cannot miss the big floppy ears and a large mouth that makes this rattle unique. From the entire series, this was my favourite rattle to make by far. I’ve made this for a particular baby boy who has two older sisters…two toy poms and I just thought this will be so cute if he can have a doggy rattle to play with. Hope this inspires your to make one yourself. Get the pattern here.

Tiger
Beautiful stripes with large ears, is some of the characteristics of this tiger pattern. This was the first baby rattle that I made and I decided to give it to my son, because man, this was quite a bit of a challenge and hard work. Get the pattern here.
