Working with difficult fabric
This silver glitter fabric looks amazing and was quite striking on stage, but it was a big challenge to work with. The main problem with the fabric was that it stretches in only one direction, which makes it difficult to make a full leotard from this fabric, because a leotard needs to stretch in both directions to make the fit more secure and give support.

Fix the problem
We would have loved to make the whole leotard dress from just the glitter fabric, but we had to compromise. So we used the glitter fabric for the front, sleeves and skirt, and decided to make the bottom and the back of the leotard, with regular white lycra to give the needed support, without ruining the look. We kept an open seam on the right side of the skirt for movement. This dress was really one of the highlights of the show.
